Residential

Noise should be considered when new developments are situated in areas exposed to environmental noise sources such as road, rail or air traffic.

Commercial

When a proposed commercial development has a potential to introduce noise to an area where sensitive receptors are present, a Noise Impact Assessment is usually required.

Industrial

Industrial developments can often generate significant levels of noise. The introduction of new noise sources into areas where there are residential receptors present usually requires a Noise Impact Assessment.

Mechanical Plant

Local Authorities some require noise assessments to be carried out for plant equipment such as Air Source Heat Pumps or Air Conditioning Units in residential or commercial settings.

What's involved?

After establishing any specific requirements of the Local Planning Authority, we will determine whether a site-based noise survey needs to be carried out.

One the survey work is completed, we will undertake the necessary noise calculations and technical work underpinning the assessment.
